The Earl of Wessex visits Wright Robinson College

Students and staff gave the Earl of Wessex a very warm welcome as he visited Wright Robinson College to celebrate the Diamond Anniversary of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. Students lined the route into college waving flags and the Earl stopped to speak to students. He was greeted at the entrance by a guard of honour of the college prefects.

The Earl of Wessex was then taken to see the various activities which students take part in as part of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme. He spoke to awardees about their experiences and students were keen to ask the Earl questions about his own experiences when he completed his own Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award.

The visited ended with the Earl of Wessex cutting a cake to celebrate the diamond anniversary and he was presented with a special ‘Team Wright Robinson’ badge by the Head Girl and Head Boy.
