FREE SCHOOL MEALS *UPDATED*
In light of last night’s announcement, the collection of ASDA Vouchers for students eligible for Free School Meals from the college campus on Wednesday 25th March 2020 is now cancelled.
Please see the attached letter outlining how the vouchers will be distributed.
Notice for the parents/carers of students eligible for Free School Meals.
In view of last night’s Government directive that gatherings in public of more than two people who do not live together is prohibited, the vouchers for free school meals will now not be distributed at the College tomorrow (Wednesday 25th March 2020), contrary to what was stated in my letter yesterday
As an alternative, the college will post out an Asda voucher to the value of £25.00 to the parents/carers of all students who are listed as eligible. Please note that the voucher will be sent to the address that the college holds on the system.
As you are aware the college regularly asks parents to update this information and unfortunately in the current situation we are not in a position to make changes to addresses before the vouchers are distributed.
The voucher will provide money for meals up to and including Friday 3rd April 2020.
It is impossible for me to provide a definitive date for when you will receive the voucher as we are processing and posting in excess of five hundred vouchers. Furthermore, Royal Mail deliveries will also be delayed due to the current restrictions.
I apologise for any inconvenience, however, as a college, we have to follow Government advice whilst also trying to support our students and their families at this time. I must reassure you that we are doing everything within our capabilities to find solutions in an ever changing landscape.
Further information will follow in due course, with details of how to access funding for Free School Meals after Friday 3rd April 2020.
