My communication today is as you would expect filled with great optimism following the government’s announcement this week that schools have received the ‘green light’ for all students to return to college from Monday 8th March.

It is a date that will be greatly anticipated by everyone at the college and measures are being undertaken to ensure that the return is managed with the full consideration of the health and safety of all students and staff.

I am aware that Mr Mason will be writing to all parents/carers next week outlining further details with regards to some of the measures that will be in place.

However in the main, the daily experience of students will be broadly the same as when they attended college pre-lockdown. Students will remain in their same classes/bubbles and follow the same timetable. The college day will start and finish at the same time and the timings of lessons, break and lunchtimes will also remain unchanged.

Next week the college will commence its programme of Lateral Flow Testing in preparation for the return. All students for whom testing consent was received by 12pm on Thursday 25th February will be invited into college at an allocated time on their designated day as shown below:-

Wednesday 3rd March: Years 8 and 9

Thursday 4th March: Years 10 and 11

Friday 5th March: Year 7

Initiating testing next week has enabled the college to open to all students on Monday 8th March and I would like to express my thanks to all of the staff who have made this possible.

I am extremely pleased that we have now reached this point and I look forward to welcoming everyone back onto the college campus in just over a week.

Finally, the college’s outstanding work around ‘remote learning’ has been recognised by the National Education Group who have awarded Wright Robinson the ‘Remote Education Accreditation’.

I am certain that you will agree this award is richly deserved and is testimony to the hard work of everyone connected to the college.

Hopefully, from Monday 8th March ‘remote learning’ will become a distant memory as the college will once again see Team Wright Robinson reunited on our impressive campus.

Best Wishes
Mr Haworth
